What is Energie Genie?
Energie Genie is a sophisticated, self-learning, smart software service which fully automates and optimises your renewable energy system (including Solar PV, battery storage, EV chargers, solar diverters, heat pumps) to the best of its ability.
Why do I need Energie Genie?
Most homeowners with renewable systems are either overwhelmed or frustrated with trying to manage the correct automation to setup their equipment. By allowing Energie Genie to take control of these devices, it will seamlessly manage to home’s energy needs, with its goal being to reduce your reliance on the grid, be more self-sufficient and make you more money.
How does Energie Genie work?
By using extremely clever algorithms, our self-learning software uses:

Energie Genie reads, evaluates and makes decisions based the unique customer’s usage, behaviour and system to create a dynamic schedule for the customer.
I have a Time of Use (ToU) tariff so I manually charge my battery overnight & discharge it at peak times to make money . Why do I need a device to do this for me?
The sobering answer is ‘battery degradation’.
Most brands of inverters and batteries have short working lives and particular models have a “number of cycles” on their batteries. When a new customer signs up with Energie Genie, we collect as much data as possible to analyse which scenario is best for you and your equipment. Afterall, one size doesn’t fit all.
We have integrated criteria within our algorithm which deliberately stops unnecessary additional cycles and excessive discharging in winter / colder months.
How does Energie Genie connect to my renewable system?
Via your Solar PB Hybrid Inverter: depending on your make and model, that could be via the “com” port or RS485 interface.
Within your device box packaging, there will be a link and QR code to follow our install instruction/video, connect to your WiFi and you’re ready to go!
For Solis units, we have built the WiFi datalogger into our unit to allow for their cloud portal to still be fully functional. This allows Solis to also seamlessly connect to the inverter and perform any firmware updates.
What brand inverters are you supporting?
Solis, Sunsynk, Fox, GivEnergy, Solax, MyEnergi Libbi, SolarEdge, Tesla Powerwall 2, SIG Energy.

What brand EV Charge-Points are you supporting?

How much does it cost?
£49.99 for the device plus postage, then £9.99 per month on a 12-month minimum contract.
Will the price increase during my contract?
Absolutely not. Unlike many providers for services, we will NOT put up our prices mid-contract, including any reference to CPI or inflation.
What happens after my initial contract?
Your service converts onto a rolling monthly contract. Alternative, you can return the device to cease the service.
Are you planning price rises in the future via a “Price Penetration” strategy?
Absolutely not. We do not believe in low-balling just to gain customers. We truly believe in our product and want our customers to make money and without hassle.
How much money can I expect to make?
This varies depending on your solar array, battery capacity, inverter capacity and your own usage.
A couple of examples are:
• Mrs LH has 5.5kWp of solar PV, a 4.6kW hybrid inverter and 12kWh battery storage and low usage. She made £136 in 2 months.
• Mr CM has 3kWp of solar PV, a 6kW hybrid inverter and 12kWh battery storage. He has moderate usage. He made £92 in 2 months.
How do I monitor the savings?
We have created a web portal that shows your usage before any adjustments, versus your savings with our Energie Genie adjustments. This is presented in a detailed graph for whatever length of time you would like to view.
We are also creating an app which will be launched in 2025.
I have a FIT system – can I still use Energie Genie?
The old FIT system is so gold-plated that even Energie Genie won’t quite work with the strict rules in place to still gain their lucrative income.
Once it is ceased being linked to indexation in 2026, Energie Genie should be your first point of call!
Do I need to be on a certain tariff?
We utilise and work with all energy tariffs, although it is worth looking into Smart / Time of Use (ToU) tariffs.
After each quarter, our service we will provide you with tariffs that could make you even more money, that would consider switching to, although we would advise that you undertake your own research too.
Why should I get your device and not a similar one on the market?

Do you support National Grid’s ‘Demand – Flexibility – Service’ (DFS)?
Yes! We are providing a fully autonomous DFS service to our clients where they can opt in or opt out of each event.
